Milgro measures time for internal waste logistics

The logistics sector is struggling with a tight labor market and as a result the sector is constantly looking for ways in which processes can be optimized and time can be reduced. At the end of 2018, Milgro formulated its ambition to support its clients in optimizing internal waste logistics, in addition to the many benefits it offers for waste management.

Central to this is the reduction of time that is now spent on the collection of waste flows. Time that clients prefer to spend on the primary process of the company. Together with its partner WSS, Milgro has developed a product and system that enables the measurement and registration of these internal waste logistics. The regular waste container will become a smart container that can be fully traced. The system offers insight with which a reduction of hours can be realized. After all, what gets measured, gets managed. Especially in the logistics sector.

To test the innovation, Milgro organized the first Container Tracking Run together with WSS on Thursday 19 December. Various teams ran a lap of almost 1 kilometer with a smart roll container to gain experience. Several logistics companies will soon start using this innovation.
