innocent drinks chooses Milgro as partner in zero waste ambition

innocent drinks has chosen Milgro as a partner in realizing its zero waste ambition. That is the outcome of the tender for the sustainable waste management of the new, completely CO2-neutral electrical factory that innocent recently officially opened. Milgro's vision, technology, methodology and approach proved to be an excellent match for innocent's ambitious sustainability goals.

The brand new factory of innocent, named the blender, on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, will produce around 400 million innocent smoothies per year in 2022 for the European market. Sustainability plays an essential role in every step of the process. Not only in the use of raw materials, but also in reducing waste and the high-quality recycling and valorisation of unavoidable waste and residual flows.

The joint ambition is great and in recent months, during the start-up phase of the blender, the main demand was for a dynamic and flexible approach in terms of collection, operational disposal and processing of waste and residual flows. During this phase, but also especially when scaling up the factory, the focus is on organizing the most sustainable processing of all released flows. Milgro's services therefore fit in perfectly with innocent's zero waste ambition. This is therefore the leading objective in the partnership.

Milgro is happy and proud of the collaboration.

“innocent drinks aims to become the most sustainable frontrunner in its market. Milgro contributes to this, based on its mission to integrate natural capital management into clients' business operations. We are ideally placed to facilitate, support and unburden innocent drinks in this - and are very much looking forward to translating the joint ambition into success”, says Alex van Kuilenburg, Ecosystem manager Food at Milgro.
