Sustainable waste management Pala Group

The Pala Group, consisting of nine BMW dealers, four MINI dealers and a body repair company in the southeast of the Netherlands, has entered into a partnership with Milgro on 1 August 2018. The choice for Milgro to make waste management more sustainable follows the 'Certified Sustainable Plus' certification that the Pala Group received at the end of 2017 and is in line with BMW Netherlands' sustainability policy.

Sustainability is not a new concept within the Pala Group. Frank Joosten, Business Development Manager Pala Group, explains: “Corporate social responsibility and especially saving the environment are intertwined in our policy. BMW Netherlands also encourages their dealers to take steps in this regard. In our search for a partner that offers solutions for waste management, Milgro stood out positively for their innovations in the field of sustainability, among other things. Innovation has been high on the agenda at BMW in all its products and processes for decades, so this felt very familiar. ” Edwin van Lieshout, Financial Director Pala Group, adds: “We want to be an example in the field of sustainability.

Data-driven waste management

The choice for Milgro was not only made on the basis of sustainability. Joosten continues: “The Milgro specialists have a lot of in-house knowledge and have shown that they are extremely well informed about the waste management of mobility companies. With their approach, the waste management at our locations is fully organized based on the number of technicians working there. And with the data from Milgro's system, it is possible to actively steer towards separate collection of waste and thereby reduce residual waste. This saves us costs, but even more important is that we further flesh out our CSR policy in this way. ”

Technology partner

“The collaboration with Pala Group means that Milgro has now connected almost all car brands in the Netherlands to its resource management platform, which contributes to our knowledge of the mobility market,” said Olivier de Wit, Consultant Resource Management at Milgro. “The data in our system confirms that in addition to the many similarities, there are also significant differences in the composition of waste between the car brands. The emphasis in value creation for our customers is gradually shifting to our role as a technology and data partner. Thanks to the knowledge that we gain from extensive data analyzes of all brands, we can serve our customers even better and we are making ever greater steps towards the circular economy. ”
